One of the most difficult to locate archival shots yet to be posted is of Tom Anselmi, the lead singer of Slow, a local punk band that kicked off an independent music festival at Expo.
Anselmi reportedly encouraged the crowd to chant “Let’s hear it for Bill Bennett! Sieg heil, Bill Bennett! Sieg heil!” and when his mic was cut off, he pulled down his pants and mooned the crowd. A riot ensued. The entire music festival was cancelled.
Shaw’s found a snapshot of Anselmi with has pants halfway down taken by photographer Liane Hentscher.
